Islamic Flies and Chinese Dragons

I would like to share with you, my loyal reader, a few points I made earlier today on a FreeRepublic thread(http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1666433/posts) regarding the latest Mark Steyn "Mailbox Extra" installment titled "The West Won't Win, and Here's Why." (http://www.steynonline.com/index2.cfm?edit_id=66) I recommend reading both links--Steyn's first. It offers a realistic, and unfortunately sobering, analysis of our current struggle with the "Religion of Pieces" (A phrase I am proud to have created waaaay back in 2002, now used worldwide by such esteemed columnists as Michelle Malkin and some Dutch guy whose name I dare not attempt to pronounce)

In the FreeRepublic thread, I asked a rhetorical question about the West's (specifically America's) willingness (or unwillingness) to fight Islamic terrorism. I wrote in post #33:

...If we REFUSE to wake up and fight these little muslim flies, what chance do we have against a REAL threat, like the Chinese dragon?

DISCLAIMER: I feel I do not have to qualify the above statement, shrink in opposition to the PC Thought Police, and explain to my reader (especially since no one is likely to read this ) that I do not think all Muslims are "flies," do I? Good...

Anyhoo... I believe, as usual, a salient point was made by Yours Truly, "The Captain." What was originally meant to be a throwaway line in a medium-intensity thread hit me a few minutes later as an idea worth revisiting. And I did. And here it is:

I just thought of this... Is the reason we have attracted these muslim flies, who constantly bite and aggravate us, because flies are known to swarm around dead things?

Has liberalism killed America? I know we all agree that liberalism can kill us, but have we died, and just don't know it yet? Like a train that has run out of fuel on a downward slope, it will keep running for a little while, but in reality the fire has gone out.

These cowardly flies only attack us because they KNOW we are a weak nation. They know that while half of us are trying to fight back, the other half is trying to commit suicide, or doesn't give a flying ---- about anything but what is on TV tonight.

A fly, like a gnat or a mosquito, has (relatively) alllllll the time in the world to achieve its goal. A fly, gnat or mosquito may be "shoo-ed" away by the horse, cow, or human, but eventually the human or animal tires, and that's when the little bloodsucking cowards strike.

As I write this article, (on the fly, no pun intended! Seriously!) I am torn between my fly analogy and my evolutionary "mosquito analogy." Flies (Islam-ic terrorists) are attracted to carcasses, (among other unmentionable biological byproducts) as I fear America might have become with its liberal rot so pervasive. (Think of the country as a living organism with liberalism's excesses, decadence, moral relativism, refusal to define and confront Evil, etc. as diseased/dead tissue spreading in an otherwise healthy animal) While this assumption is usable, it is not entirely accurate. The assumption that America has, in the parlance of Rush Limbaugh, "assumed room temperature" is a little premature, to say the least.

So I will use the mosquito analogy, with radical Islam-a-dam-a-ding-dong terrorists as the bloodsucking parasites, and the West as the host organism.

Mosquitoes are relatively harmless. Unless you listen to too much talk radio, and have based your opinion of mosquitoes on those alarmist and propagandistic Orkin commercials, we know mosquitoes fly around and occasionally suck the blood of animals and humans. At least the females do this (But isn't that always the way. I kid! I kid!)

Occasionally, however, depending on where one lives, the severity of the problem, and general unluckiness, mosquitoes can be dangerous, even deadly. They carry disease, and can spread this disease rather quickly and efficiently.

I liken these terrorists to disease-(Bin) laden mosquitoes, and America to a family of host organisms unwilling to use the correct preventive measures to ensure continued health and safety.

The kids (Innocent civilians, think 9/11/01) are bitten by the mosquitoes, since they are the easiest to bite. (Mosquitoes supposedly prefer kids to adults--Thanks, Orkin Man!) The father (Our hawk contingent) wants to spray the kids down, with repellent, set up bug zappers,  and bomb the backyard with DDT to prevent future bites. (attacks) The mother (Our liberal friends in the media, ACLU, government, slimy CongressCritters looking for political gain, etc.)  is either too afraid of harming the children with chemicals, worried about the cost and inconvenience of the operation, potentially embarrassed over the reaction of their neighbors,  or offending the mosquitoes for some strange reason.  They do agree at first, to drain the puddle out back, hopefully reducing the infestation. But Mom orders Dad not to use any "harsh chemicals" or the services of an exterminator.

Meanwhile, little Timmy gets bit, and develops West Nile Virus, among other things. The mother and father refuse to see eye-to eye, or come to some sort of compromise, and during one of their now-famous late-night spats, little Susie catches whatever little Timmy had.

Since Mom is much more, let's say "vocal", Dad shrinks back, and avoids standing up for himself, and thus avoids what is needed to be done--to KILL the mosquitoes! In that time, the bloodsucking population spreads, "feeding" off the family's overall weakness, and soon, the whole family has some sort of blood-borne illness. (Except Dad, who kept a can of Deep Woods OFF secreted away in his golf bag...)

And there you have it. My "Islam as Mosquito" analogy. It is a little long winded and roundabout, but I think it makes sense. If this particular family  could not take care of a bunch of annoying insects, will they be able to handle the Chinese Dragon lurking in the woods just past their property line? I'll let you form your own conclusions on that one. I'm going to bed.

This is Captain Paintball signing off. And remember in the immortal words of Commander USA: Keep your feet on the ground, and your hands to yourself!!!
